William Henry Courtenay Prideaux byl anglický diplomat, politik a autor cestopisů. Proslavil se především svou knihou Impressions of Japan (1896), která byla jednou z prvních knih napsaných západním autorem, která podala pozitivní zprávu o Japonsku a jeho kultuře. Prideaux také napsal řadu dalších knih, včetně Notes for a Bibliography of Edward FitzGerald (1901), Recollections of a Crimean Veteran (1904) a The Education of a Diplomatist (1912).
